College Acceptance: Sean Meyer
Previous School: Lane Tech
MZB programs: ACT tutoring
Tutor and experience: Jacob was a fantastic tutor that I met during my freshman year tennis season. I noticed that throughout the season, Jacob had great leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities, and he used these skills in both tennis and tutoring. He always strived to help me understand not only the content of the ACT, but how to navigate throughout the test for the best possible results. With that said, I am very grateful for all the guidance he’s given me to help me reach my ultimate goal of getting into Michigan.
Tips: Michigan focuses on well-rounded students
College: University of Michigan (College of Literature, Sciences, and the Arts)
Application Type: Early Action
After talking to the kids this year who have gotten in and who have gotten rejected, here is what I’ve learned:
- Wrote unique, thoughtful, and creative essays (the community involvement supplemental essay is very important)
- Had good extracurriculars (Played 1 or 2 sports, few clubs, businesses and/or passion projects)
